The Mid-Ohio Invitational is a 36-hole amateur golf championship played annually at the Hickory Flat Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette. West Lafayette is in eastern Coshocton County. The tournament is always played on the last full weekend in June.

The field is limited to 102 entrants. Paired in threesomes, golfers begin play each morning at 8:30. Tee times last until nearly 1 p.m. On the second day, players are paired by score with those with the lowest first round scores in the final groups. If needed to determine a champion, a sudden-death play-off will commence shortly after the last threesome finishes on Sunday.

Golfers may carry their own clubs, use caddies or ride on carts provided by the course. Those who wish to have a caddy must provide their own. Rangefinders, including Sky Caddie, are allowed. USGA rules govern play.

Hickory Flat Greens is a 6,600-yard par 72 golf course designed by Jack Kidwell. It opened in 1969. It has eight par four holes, five par three holes and five par five holes. Water hazards can come into play on ten holes. Hickory Flat Greens has a course rating of 70.4 and a Slope of 109. The competitive course record is 62 shot by Zach Sebert in the Mid-Ohio Invitational in 2007. The median score in the championship over the last two years is 75.

Golfers compete by invitation, but low handicap golfers are encouraged to contact MOGA and request an entry form. There is no provision for entering the tournament online. Final deadline for submitting an entry is one week prior to the tournament, although entries will close earlier if the field reaches 102 players before the stated deadline.

The tournament is open to amateur golfers of all ages and is not limited to golfers who reside in Ohio. Golfers from 21 other states and Canada have competed.

Players wanting an invitation can contact MOGA at the street or e-mail address listed on this site. When requesting an invitation, please provide some information about the level of your golf game, such as your USGA handicap and experience you may have had in competitive golf.
